Oakland Living History ProgramThe Oakland Living History Program (OLHP) is dedicated to recording the stories of individuals who have witnessed substantial change in Oakland, California. It strives to collect groups of interviews that provide a body of information sufficient to illuminate the social history of neighborhoods and the diverse communities that comprise the city. The Program provides training in oral history methods to Mills College students, staff, faculty and to members of participating communities. Interviews are recorded, transcribed, and processed for archival preservation. All oral histories, including those based on projects generated or taken over by community groups, are archived at Mills College (see a full list available at the Mills Library, here) and the Oakland Public Library. |
