Pat Parker
Poet and activist Pat Parker (1944-1989) was heralded as “the poet laureate of the Black and Lesbian peoples.” She served as the medical coordinator at the Oakland Feminist Women's Health Center from 1978 to 1987, and founded the Black Women's Revolutionary Council in 1980. Her published works include five volumes of poetry: Child of Myself (1971), Pit Stop (1973), Womanslaughter (1978), Movement in Black (1978; 1999), and Jonestown & Other Madness (1985).
